Lianne Morrell is a classically trained violinist and composer whose music combines expressive depth, formal clarity, and stylistic versatility. Drawing from a wide range of influences, including classical tradition, film scoring, and contemporary techniques. Lianne writes concert music for ensembles and soloists, as well as film scores, blending classical expression with cinematic storytelling.
At the Sunderman Conservatory of Music at Gettysburg College, Lianne studied violin with Elly Toyoda and composition with Avner Dorman. During her time there, she developed a strong foundation in counterpoint, orchestration, score study, and conducting, while also exploring composition for multimedia and film. Her works span a variety of ensembles, including choir, string quartet, symphony orchestra, and solo repertoire. They have been performed and recorded in recital halls, theaters, and collaborative workshops. Her piece "A Bridge to Tomorrow", written for Gettysburg College during her time as a student, has gained wide recognition through its use in media and institutional recordings.
As a violinist, Lianne has performed with a wide range of ensembles throughout Pennsylvania and maintains an active presence in the professional music scene. Guided by a lifelong devotion to the violin, she brings a sense of joy and artistry to each setting.
In addition to her musical training, Lianne earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Her interdisciplinary path informs her compositional voice with both analytical precision and a fascination for natural systems.
